Tendinitis / Tendinopathy
Are you suffering with a Stiff, Swollen or Painful Tendon?
Let us help get it sorted here at The Physio & Sports Injury Clinic in Rhos on Sea without the need for any medications, injections or surgery.
Tendinitis (or Tendinopathy as its correctly called) is the swelling &/or break-down of the elasticated structures (anchors) which hold a muscle down onto a bone. Tendons don’t have a great blood supply, therefore when they get injured they can be slow to heal! The 3 most commonly injured tendons are: Achilles tendon (back of heel), Patella tendon (below kneecap) and Rotator cuff (outer shoulder).
Tendon injuries often occur for 2 main reasons: traumatically from a sudden movement or fall (where you may feel a tear), otherwise they can come on gradually over a period of weeks/months and you just wake up with it (e.g. Repetitive strain/RSI).
